Access Statement and
Facilities for the Disabled Holidaymaker

On this page I have attempted to give the disabled holiday maker and their families a clearer idea of the facilities we have on offer at Primrose Hill.

Whilst realising that all individual needs are so different we have listened to guests comments and implemented suggestions wherever possible. I hope the following information and photos may be of help to you.

On arrival

The approach to Primrose Hill is now marked with a brown tourist sign. Once you have come up the drive all the accommodation and facilities are on a level and car parking is a few yards from your front door.

When a holiday is booked at Primrose Hill I have usually spoken to guests on the phone so have a good idea of specific requirements. I personally greet all my guests whenever possible. If equipment is requested then this is all ready in your bungalow.

All our bungalows have level access, wide doors and Rick and I will happily move furniture around to make life easier. We do prefer to do this ourselves so please do not struggle yourselves but just ask!

What a view!!!

The view is always a surprise to guests new to Primrose Hill....A picture does not do it justice. The ramped access to the gardens from the lounge means you can enjoy this wonderful view over Blue Anchor Bay and the shared front gardens also have a ramp so you can sit and enjoy the evening sun with a glass of wine in hand...perfect!!!

Lounge

All the bungalows have good-sized lounges suitable for wheelchair users. An upright chair, foot stool and side tables are available on request.

Bedrooms

Hoist (18K)    commode (14K)

Oak, Beech and Ash bungalow have bedrooms suitable for those guests who need to transfer into bed from their wheelchair. Ash also has an electric bed. Commodes are available on request.

If a hoist is required this can be hired from PLUSS on 01278 445446. This is at an additional charge but will be delivered to Primrose Hill ready for your arrival.

Kitchen

Our kitchens are fully equipped. Beech has low level units and all work well for a wheelchir user. A perching stool is available and there is a lower pull out shelf suitable for preparing food.

Shower room facilities

Elm has grab rails and can accommodate a toilet frame with a raised loo seat

On request shower chairs and a perching stool are available to make life easier in the shower room along with raised loo seats.
